i , guys and gals !!I’m back for the last time this semester. And this is your last chance not to be left out of the happenings in THE SFE .
Its important for you SFEites to know what has been going on in your own world (but if you are true SFEites, you will tell me a lot more than I have to tell u )
So where do I start from ? Obviously, right from the start.
This year (’96 – ’97) , SFE started its quest to satiate your ravenous appetite for info, contests and all sorts of Dhamaal etc. , under the aegis of our new chairperson
Prof. (Mrs) Naveeta Kant .
And with the new chairperson and the new council came a whole new bunch of activities eager for your complicity.
1. Membership Drive
This year, SFE was thrown open to interested students from other branches with a revised fee structure to help us serve you better. Now we are a family of members from the SE, TE and BE Elecs alongwith the members of SE Telecom . Also this year, a database of all SFE members was created, reducing the paper work, for a better and efficient organisation, which is the hallmark of the SFE .
2. Senior to Junior Academic Interaction
An important and unique feature seen only at the SFE, the academic interaction were held in the respective classes .
 | FEs were introduced to the SFE by yours truly and my Vice-Presi Rajesh Iyer. The interaction was given by the SE Elecs class and was co-ordinated by Tushar and Sourja from the Executive Cell . |

3. Publication of E-Mail
Continuing from last years endeavour to provide students with regular info, this year we have come out with 3 editions of the E-Mail ,namely Aug, Sept and Oct.
Kudos to the Editorial Cell,
‘coz aren’t the E-Mails good ?

5. Industrial Visits
As a part of the industrial visit series, SFE members from SE (Elecs & Tele ) classes were taken to the Nelco factory (TTC MIDC, Mahape ) where they were shown EPABXs.

This semester due to a great number of activities, only 2 lectures were organised.A lecture on DOS was given by Dinshaw ( TE Elecs ) for the FEs and a lecture on Telecommunications was given by Rajesh for the SEs.
The next semester will see many such lectures for the members. So just wait …..
SFE caters to the need of all. An innovative idea, the GRE/CAT simulation tests, organised for the benefit of those aspiring for lush green pastures in the form of a future abroad or those who wanna earn a fast buck as well as prestige doing their management courses, this has been a great success.
A series of 5 tests each in GRE and CAT with 2 TOEFL Listening Comprehension simulations ( conducted by Tushar Pai ) have helped in boosting the students confidence.
For those taking their GRE in April and for the CET guys, don’t panic, ‘coz we do have something in store for you the next sem.
We have decided that it’s high time to open SFE to the cyberspace.SFE’s own webpage will soon come into being with the efforts of the members working on it , under the co-ordination of Milind N.(SE Elecs) SFE will be on the net soon.
This ended another sem, where we at SFE strived to work for the benefit of it’s members. And as always the next semester holds more for you than you can handle.
Besides the regular Industrial Visits, Lecture Series, Paper Contest & Seminar Contests for the members, you will have a chance to show your technical skills in the Technical Contest and Exhibition .So all you techno pros out there, get your brains ticking.
And lastly, but not the least, SFE activities culminate with the Annual Symposium which also includes the prize distribution function and the release of our yearly magazine , INT Elect (articles for which should come from u – so get to work )
And yes, you will have the regular editions of the E-Mail as usual.
